Hey guys!!! Today’s blog is not my usual blog. Today, I am going to share 2 poems with you that will make you cry or at least emotional. These poems are really beautiful so make sure you read both of them with no distractions to get the juices of it. So, without any further details let’s get into it in our favorite, Expeknow style!
The first poem is “Not” from Erin Hanson. This poem tells you about your true beauty and how you are not someone who you try to be. So, here is your first poem:
You are not your age,
Nor the size of clothes you wear.
You are not a weight,
Or the color of your hair.
You are not your name,
Or the dimples in your cheeks.
You are all the books you read,
And all the words you speak.
You are your croaky morning voice,
And the smiles you try to hide.
You are the sweetness in your laughter,
And every tear you’ve cried.
You’re the songs you sing so loudly,
When you know you’re all alone.
You’re the places that you’ve been to,
And the people whom you love.
You’re the photos in your bedroom,
And the future you dream of.
You’re made of so much beauty,
But it seems that you forgot
When you decided that you were defined
By all the things you’re not.
Now, the second poem is “Do not stand at my grave and weep” by Mary Elizabeth Frye. This one reminds me of people who are gone forever. I am sure it will do the same for you. This one is emotional so make sure you have your tissues with you. So, here is your second poem:
Do not stand at my grave and weep.
I am not there, I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints that show.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning’s hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry;
I am not there, I did not die.
So, this is all I’ve got for now. I hope you also liked them as much as I did. Make sure to leave a like. Comment the name of your favorite poem or leave it down there I would highly appreciate that.
